#1 Windscreen Chip Repair Liverpool
But...
Beware - Windscreen Repair Is Mainly A Scam!!
After speaking to thousands of people at windscreen repair jobs, it's clear to me that windscreen repair has become a massive scam in the UK.
We have companies poorly repairing windscreens in 5 minutes.
The result?
A chip that looks exactly the same afterwards 🤣🤣
But do you know what's even crazier than this?
It's that people have accepted this standard and nobody seems the be bothered. The reason for this is because 97% of the repairs i've seen are not filled in properly. But you can only poor work if that's the only thing avaliable, right!? 🤣
Keep reading to find out some of the reasons why this scam exists.
Reason 1: The 'The Chip Will Never Fully Dissapear' Excuse
While it's true that a chip will never dissapear complely, it's constantly getting used as an excuse for a poor quality job.
Let's be real...
Yes, the chip will still be very slightly visible afterwards.
But it's either filled up 100% or it's a failed repair 🤣
People are paying for repairs that are 20% filled up. But because they have been told that the chip will never fully dissapear, they are not concerned when it looks the same afterwards.
Dissapointed...but not concerned.
They believe it's 100% filled up and will not crack any further.
However, this is not the case.
Reason 2: The Sun Cures The Resin
Those of you that have witnessed a windscreen repair may have noticed that resin is cured with a UV light.
At the end of each repair, the technician 'should' use a UV light to make the resin go hard and match the strength of the glass.
But here's something to think about.
Let's say a chip takes 30 minutes to fill up entirely.
How the hell can it be done outside when the sun produces UV light???🤣🤣
As soon as you begin filling the chip with resin, it will start going hard within 30 seconds because of the sun.
And if the resin cures in the 30 seconds, you will not be able to get any more to fill the crack because it will be blocked.
Amateur errors like this are the reason most repairs look the way they do.
By the way, repairs can be done outside but there are special tools that need to be used to stop the sun from reaching the crack.
Have I ever seen one used?
Absoluetly not.
Reason 3: What About The Water??
When I see a 'windscreen repair expert' start filling up a chip, it always makes me laugh.
Why?
Because they have already missed the most important part of any repair.
Removing the water beforehand.
When it rains in the UK, where do you think the water goes? Most experts probably think the rain water avoids and dodges the chip 🤣
But it doesn't.
It fills the chip just like resin does.
So how can you put resin in before removing the water before. Makes no sense.
But this is what 97% of technicians are doing. And it's another reason why the chips look so bad.

If 97% Of Repairs Are Bad, Why Are People Paying For Them???
Good question.
It's true that people are paying for these repairs. I believe the reason is because they don't know what a good quality repair looks like.
And you're not going to refuse payment after the technician already told you it wont disappear completly, are you?
I'll give you another reason.
I can't count how many used car dealers I've spoke to that try to get me down on price. And then I ask them to show me the repairs they are paying for.
Do you know what they show me?
A chip that's 10% filled up 🤣
"As long as it don't crack, I'm happy!" is what they tell me 🤣🤣
They are convinced that it's filled up and won't crack any further. Always makes me laugh.
Once I show them what a real repair looks like they are left questioning what they have been paying for for the last 20 years. Money that could have been put to good use chucked away.
So I Guess It's Time To Show What A Real Repair Looks Like, Right!?
Get your popcorn ready because your about to see something you have never seen before.🍿
Chips that are acctually repaired.
Here we go.

Is It True That A Chip Can Get Bigger When Being Repaired?
Yes.
While it's uncommon that a chip get's bigger during a repair, it's not impossible. There are precuations that need to be taken with any repair.
These include:
- Cooling down the windscreen (or maybe heating it up a little).
- Applying pressure at the correct points.
- Checking for any signs of further cracking.
However, broken glass in unpredictable. Sometimes I can determine if I think it's going to crack, other times I can't.
The good news is that it's extremely rare.
So what happens if it cracks.
If your windscreen cracks during your repair, it will be free. This money can then be put towards your windscreen cover excess for a replacement. If you're a used car dealership then the same applies, but you may have to cover the rest of the money for a replacement.
If this is a risk you are not willing to take, then please don't contact me.
Providing all precautions are taken, I'm not liable for buying a new windscreen regardless of what anybody thinks. The process of a repair requires use of heat and pressure on the glass, both of which can cause crackouts.
But then again...
It's more likely to crack if it's not repaired.
